March
For Women's Lives
Washington, DC
April 25, 2004
Several members spent an incredible weekend taking
in the sights and sounds of Washington and participating in the
largest ever demonstration in the nation's capital.
Over a million people started from the Mall, circled
past the White House and chanted pro-choice and anti-administration
slogans, demanding an end to the backward looking policies that
risk women's lives for the sake of the extreme religious views
of a few.
Our president, Lisa Ridge, started her weekend at
the base of the Lincoln Memorial, strolled past the Vietnam Veterans
Memorial and then joined members of the American Humanist Association
for breakfast before proceeding to the assembly area. These are
the pictures she and husband Tim took during a euphoric day of
protest and fun!
